LitterMath is a small independent guide for U.S. cat owners who are deciding whether a self-cleaning litter box is worth it, and which type fits their cats and home.

How we make pages

  • We don’t test products. We compare models on the specs and prices their makers publish, and we link to every source we use.
  • Pages are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and checked against sources. Each page goes through a separate fact-check before it’s marked as reviewed. If a page says “Draft,” that check hasn’t happened yet.
  • Prices change. Every price shows the date we checked it. Always confirm the current price on the seller’s site.
  • Owner experiences come from public discussions (for example, Reddit). We label them as owner reports, not as facts or expert advice.
  • No vet advice. We’re not veterinarians. If your cat’s litter box habits change, talk to your veterinarian.

What we don’t do

No invented reviews, ratings, “experts,” or test results. No paid placements: a brand can’t pay to be listed or ranked.

How we make money

Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn’t change what we list or how we describe it. Details: affiliate disclosure.
